Daily Devotion January 24

Psalm 91:4
He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler.

Do you ever have one of those days that you feel that everything that could have possibly gone wrong, did?  In reality we know that everything possible really didn't go wrong but it seems like we've had more than we can bear.  Those are the kinds of days when it is important for us to remember that we can run to Jesus and He will protect us.

When I was growing up we always had chickens.  I remember seeing the mother hen tuck her babies under her wings to protect them.  That is what Jesus does for us, too.  He wants to protect us, especially in times of trouble.  Our problem is that we often don't think about running to Him FIRST. But that is what we need to do.  The psalmist tells us that we can trust Him to provide all the protection we need.  We haven't done anything to deserve this promise, but it is ours to hold onto in times of need.

As we go through our day, let us remember that we can have the same protection as those baby chicks.  Our Heavenly Father will hide us and protect us.
